The story...

Mommy was having contractions all day long on Friday. Of course, this had been going on for days so I thought nothing of it...

By 7pm they were coming pretty good so I started to time them. We were 7 minutes apart. The doctor said to call if I was 6-8 minutes apart so we would have time to make it to the hospital since it was 40 minutes away. I decided to take a shower and then lay down for a little rest to see if they stayed consistent. Just my luck...they died out some and spread apart...AGAIN. :o)

I headed to bed for the night and pretty much got a terrible night of sleep. I was having more and more contractions that were waking me up and quite painful. By 3:30am I got up to time them again. We were 4-5 minutes apart now and they were pretty strong. I called the doctor and she told me to head in to the hospital. The neighbor came over to stay with your brothers and off we went.

We arrived at the hospital and I was placed on the monitor. Sure enough...IT WAS TIME!!! Mommy and Daddy were so excited to meet you. We had to wait a little while until the OR was ready and my blood work all came back. They wheeled me in for the surgery and you arrived crying loudly at 8:41am! Daddy got to announce that you were another boy!!! Both Mommy and Daddy were thrilled and cried with excitement! You were precious. You were much smaller than we were anticipating. The doctor had estimated your weight at 8 1/2 to 9 pounds and you were only 7lbs 10oz! That's totally fine with Mommy since I like LITTLE babies to snuggle!!!

I got to see you briefly and they wisked you away to the next room to check your vitals. Daddy brought you back and I kissed your chunky cheeks for a few minutes. Then off you were taken to the baby nursery to check the rest of your blood work and things. Mommy was still getting closed up when they came and told me that you were having sugar issues. You were all the way down to 28! I guess a normal level is above 50 so they had to give you some formula to boost your levels. Once I was in recovery I begged my nurse to have them bring you down to see me. We were only waiting for 2 one hour sugar tests to come back within normal range and you'd be out of the woods. They carried you down and I was able to hold you for a little while. Your next 2 sugar tests came back normal so by 11:45am you were brought to my room to stay with me!!! Mommy was one happy camper to be able to snuggle on my little "cuddle bug". FINALLY!!!

All the while...Grandpa Devers was driving up from Alabama the very same day. What timing!!! He was able to get your brothers from Jess's house and bring them to the hospital to see Mommy and your new baby brother!!! Everyone was thrilled that you were here and healthy. Even Jordan was totally in love...He wanted a sister so badly but as soon as he laid eyes on you...he was the proudest big brother ever!!!

You and Mommy stayed in the hospital until Tuesday afternoon recovering before heading home. All is well and great at our house. Pappy spent your first week with us. Grandma Devers will be here for your second week. Then, Grandma and Grandpa Krol will arrive for about 10 days or so.

You're a cuddly little bug and we're enjoying all your little coos and smiles. You sure can load a diaper though...at least 10 times a day!!! WOW!!! :o)
